Towneley Re-united
Location: Lancashire
The group wish to compile an historical, oral and pictorial record of Towneley School, from its opening in 1941, through its various educational stages, right up to the closure of the school in July 2006.
A celebration will take place where past pupils, teachers and local residents will be invited to document, chronicle and record memories of life in and around Towneley. Regular press articles will encourage contributions from the widest cross section of residents. Material will also be collected and collated throughout the following months leading to the production of a book and the creation of a website. An exhibition will be staged upon completion of the project.
