Wavertree Cricket Club 150th Anniversary Project
Location: Liverpool

The project will celebrate the 150 years history of Wavertree Cricket Club by drawing upon the memories and experiences of past and current members/players, local people. It will utilise the existing club archive materials e.g. photographs, minutes, annual reports etc. as well as materials from the Wavertree Society and Liverpool City Council Archives. An exhibition will be held and the group will produce and publish a history of the club and create a written and oral archive of member’s experiences and memories, which will be available on CD-ROM.

They will catalogue and restore club photographs as well as increase the stock of club photographs and memorabilia via member donations. A web site will be created in conjunction with the John Moores University in Liverpool and will have a link into the Liverpool European City of Culture 2008 web site, the first sports club to do so. Local volunteers will receive training in web and IT skills to enable them to manage these parts of the project. Local schools have been contacted and plans are being developed to bring children into the project.
