Tales of Oak Wood
Location: St Helens

Oak Wood is set in Taylor Park, other parts of which are currently being restored by HLF funding. The project will start with research to explore the wood’s origins and evolution, and lead on to the development of stories and writing about the natural heritage of the wood.

A performance area will be developed using wood from the site for the purpose of storytelling and performance of community stories developed during the project.

Finally a journey through Oak Wood with performances will be held. 3000 booklets will be produced which will contain the research of the Victorian heritage of Oak Wood and its flora and fauna as well as a selection of woodland stories, poems, songs.
