"The Legacy of Samuel Taylor"
Location: St Helens

To investigate the life and times of Samuel Taylor and celebrate them via playlets, stories, songs and poems and the production of a booklet for local people. Victorian Days will be held to bring the period to life in an accessible way.

The project will take place around Taylor Park, which is currently being restored with HLF money and aims to give local people in a very disadvantaged area, a sense of pride in and ownership of the Park. The St Helens EAZ project serves two local communities in close proximity to the park. It held several successful environmental themed events last year. The EAZ will be supported in delivering the project, by the Friends of Taylor Park and the local ranger service.

The project arose after a recent event when the parents and volunteers of an after school club suggested that they should investigate the life of the Taylor family. The EAZ is co-ordinating the project on their behalf as the group does not have the skills and experience necessary to manage the full project themselves.
