Broad Oak & Greenhurst Clough
Location: Tameside

This project is a natural heritage survey project. It is developing under-used and poorly maintained cloughs of semi-natural ancient woodland near Ashton-under-Lyne. The area will be an educational resource for six local schools.

The first stage of the project is to install a semi-formal linear pathway. This will run the whole length of the cloughs and is linking up with Heartshead Pike Monument and nearby Knott Hill Reservoir.

The second stage of the project is involving schoolchildren. They are helping in the production of a heritage/nature trail leaflet which is highlighting the sites. The schools are also assisting in the design of interpretation boards and signage.
