Art and archaeology on Downley Common
Location: Buckinghamshire

The Downley School spent a whole week working on the archaeology on their doorstep - first excavating and then working on the artefacts, followed up with art and poetry workshops.

The artwork was inspired by their work in the field during the excavation or working on the finds afterwards. Here is a tiny seelction - more work will appear in the project book.

Strata or ammonites seemed to be very popular in the chosen themes.
