The Unveiling Of the Bletchley Railway Banners
Location: Buckinghamshire
On Monday 24th January in Bletchley Library, year seven children from two local Bletchley Schools, Eaton Mill Combined and Knowles Middle, were guests of honour at the unveiling of the Railway banners.

Unveiling of Bletchley Railway Banners
The children have been involved in a year long Local Heritage Initiative funded project on the Railways in Bletchley with the Bletchley Community Heritage Initiative Project based in Bletchley Library.
During this time they took part in a three-day textile workshop working with a local artist Angela Booth. Each school created two banners, one entitled ‘Welcome to Bletchley’ the other ‘Transport through the Ages’ with each School keeping one of the banners and the two other banners are now on display in Bletchley Library above the Children’s Library.
Community Heritage Officer Tracy Whitmore describes the banners as ‘Amazing, the children have put a tremendous amount of effort into the banners and the Library is delighted to be able to display such wonderful work’.
The banners are on display in Bletchley library , along with other work created by the children during the project including pastel travel posters, clay railway company crests and poems.
For further information on this project please contact Tracy Whitmore on 01908 368851or email tracy.whitmore@btconnect.com.
