Events for Bucks Geology
Location: Buckinghamshire
Our events programme will be developed quickly from August 2006 onwards. We have lots of exciting things planned and lots of field trips and work days to get in to the prgramme - check out this page regularly for updates!
Field trips
Venue: Buckinghamshire

Geo-expedition
Venue: Winslow
A fascinating tour with Mike Henty. We will meet in the Winslow Public car Park (the one near the chemist) at 10 am. We can condense cars here, sharing transport, and travel off to several localities in the area to see how rocks have made out Bucks landscape - the hills and the vales. Mike may have a trick or two up his sleeve too - so watch out!

Bucks Best Rocks and fossils
Venue: Bucks County Museum, Aylesbury
Illustrated talks from several local geologists, with displays of local rocks, minerals and fossils. Followed by an introduction to the LHI project and we are hoping to do and how you can help and have fun too! Wine or tea and cakes at the break. 2 pm-3.30 talks; 3.45-5pm project plans an talking to the team.

Studley grange mud springs and fossils
Venue: Studley Grange & Wootton Bassett
This event is near Swindon and will be a treat to see a famous fossil locality with Michael Oates. Date to be confirmed.

Rock and Fossil roadshow
Venue: All over the place in Bucks!
This is a mobile display and event which will be travelling Buckinghamshire from October 2006. Organised by Mike Henty and Jill Eyers this will be an interesting combination of displays on Bucks geology with information appropriate to the venue. There will be rocks and fossils to handle and we very much hope that people will bring their unidentified items for us to tell them about. Please contact us for venues and dates (although they will be put up here later on).
