The Colne Valley Heritage Project
Location: Buckinghamshire

The project aims to create an action plan for the long-term preservation of historic sites in the Colne Valley through partnership working, education and a practical restoration project (£5,561) to create a focus and a link. This is to be done by working with local history groups to identify key historical and archaeological sites in the park. An education pack is to be created and distributed to 200 local schools (funded separately) and an education programme is to be developed to include schools and local residents (£2909), the group also plan a living heritage day (£3525) which will encourage local residents to come to the park and take part in historic re-enactments, crafts and learn about the lives of the Roman and other inhabitants of the area. The group also intends to create a website (£2350) which will map and share information found during the project. Ultimately the group wish to use all of the information gathered for the above to create an action plan which will inform the future management of the heritage assets within the park .
