An artwork for Selborne
Location: Hampshire
Selborne Village Hall have secured funding from the CA community fund as well as the Parish and District councils, to create a space for all the community within their Edwardian Village Hall.
To celebrate this achievement and that the focal point to the village is 100 years old this year, the village community are going to undertake a project that is truly a project of the community incorporating and reflecting views of as many residents as possible.
This will be achieved through workshops, where participants will be encouraged to explore the heritage of their village, particularly what is important and significant to them.
The photographs and drawings produced will be used to develop images in the stained glass window in the village hall. The project is going to be recorded and included in the book, which will also interpret the 63 images displayed in the glass and will be made freely available to the community.
A local designer will consolidate the community's images of the locality to ensure a well-produced output. Once the project has completed there will be an exhibition held in the hall.
