Whippingham Heritage Trail
Location: Isle of Wight

This project aims to create a heritage trail around parts of Whippingham to inform walkers of the history of the area, once part of the Osborne House estate (Victoria and Albert’s residence).

The group will
  • identify two accessible trails
  • create an A3 trail leaflet to accompany them
  • install interpretation boards on the trails themselves

The walks will be further enhanced by the provision of 3 information booklets. They have also considered other ways of making the information accessible including an interactive website with oral history archive, computerised mobile presentations and an exhibition.

There is a high level of training included to allow the group and community to take ownership of the above and be fully included in the whole process of the project delivery.
