Introductory meeting
Location: Kent

1 March 2006
Introductory Meeting
Venue: Cranbrook, Kent

Malcolm Dove, introduced the meeting on behalf of the friends of Bedgebury Pinetum. Dr Nicola Bannister then gave a presentation on Woodland Archaeology, showing examples of the sorts of features likely to be revealed during the survey, and explained how very important it is that we record them so that they can be managed appropriately.
All those attending were invited to join in what ever way they felt appropriate. It will begin with archive research to gather as much background material on the Bedgebury site as possible, whether in written form, photographs, maps or people’s memories. Field work will begin in the autumn.
The next training session will be a visit to the Centre for Kentish Studies on April 24th. If you would like to get involved or would like any more information please contact:
