Preston Village Millennium Project
Location: West Sussex

Preston was once a Downland village. It is located in a Conservation Area. The project is focusing on the history of the village from the point of view of those who have lived there and on the businesses which have developed and since disappeared. The outcome of this research is being produced in a book which is documenting the history and development of Preston village.

Interviews are being conducted to record the memories of people of all ages. These are being put together with photographs of those who have lived in or had connection with the village.

The book will enable residents and visitors to the area to develop an understanding and appreciation of the village's history up to the present day.

Many local residents are directly involved in conducting interviews and recording memories. The group is also working with school children on local history projects.
