The Fernhurst History Project
Location: West Sussex

The oral history project will look at the changes that have occurred in the village over the last 100 years. The memories and changing perspective will be recorded from families, who have been in the village for generations and the 'new comers' to the area.

Interviews will be structured around topics such as industry, schooling, shopping and religion. Once this has been researched the memories will be collated, then with the help of a designer the information will be made into a colour book. 1000 copies of the book will be printed.

Material and images that will support this project will be shown in an exhibition in the village hall during the launch. The group with the help of Fernhurst Primary School are also going to develop skills to upload the information and images onto and existing village website.

The use of the recording and visual equipment will ensure the project is sustained and assessable to all members of the community..
