Project Update

Work officially began on the project July 1st. Peggy Rowe, the museum’s administrator very kindly donated the use of part of her barn to operate as a place to make the video recordings for the project. Some work was required to clear and clean an area. Backdrops and a lighting system were then constructed – see photos. The “studio”, as we affectionately call it, operates quite well although recording occasionally has to pause due to low flying aircraft from a nearby RAF base. The two first interviews were made in July and three more in August – holidays permitting. In addition to the recordings, templates for the interactive DVD were developed.

The project completed its sixth month as of the end of December 2003. To date to a total of 19 video interviews have been completed of 15 subjects – about 24 hours of recording so far. 7 of these interviews are processed onto DVD and are now available to watch at the museum. The video file on this website demonstrates how the DVD can be used.
