Liskeard Heritage Trails
Location: Cornwall

The aim of the project is to raise awareness of the built, archaeological and industrial heritage of Liskeard town centre. This will be done by the creation of 2 wheel/pushchair accessible Heritage trails around the centre of the town with a large map and information board at all arrival points and finger post signs at strategic places.

The Town Centre trail will be researched through the involvement of a wide representation of the local community and feature the most historic parts of the town; a free leaflet guide with map giving information about prominent buildings and heritage features will be produced. The Junior Trail will be similar but created by 10 – 15 yr olds and will have a free activity sheet and map.

Translations done in conjunction with the students at the Community College will be done in French, German and Spanish. A free video/DVD and a CD featuring the trails and including more of the town’s history will be produced with professional help to ensure accessibility for all. The group’s website will be expanded and enhanced to cover the implementation of the project and its results
