LHI Liskeard Town Trails project - December 2005 project status
The design of the map display boards has been completed and the method of their construction decided upon -we are waiting for the artwork for the sponsors' logos. Quotations for the manufacture of the frames surrounding the map boards have been received.
There will be five of these boards around town with a further two if funds permit
Tenders for the supply of the five finger posts were received, one quote was selected and the order is being placed. Permissions for the locating of these finger posts have been granted by the Council and the private organisations concerned.
The design and layout of the trail guides has been finalised. They will be A2 size with the map on one side and text and photographs on the other . There will be an initial print run of 10,000.
The two childrens' trail guides -the Town trail and the Church trail -have been completed, and there will be a print run of 1,000 for each of these.
Translations of the above guides by Adult Education into selected continental languages is being arranged.
Twelve people took part in the digital photography course. To consolidate their learning, a photo competition has been organised with the winning images being professionally printed and mounted by local photo lab -Top Photo.
A second course covering Desk Top Publishing principles has been scheduled for January 2006
A DVD 'video' of the town is to be produced. This will, in fact, be a montage of still photographs, some taken recently and some being old photographs supplied by the Museum, the Old Cornwall Society and individuals. A musical background on the DVD will be supplied by the Liskerrett Male Voice Choir and others yet to be decided
