Tenders were sought for installing the finger posts. A bid from local contractor CORMAC has been accepted, and the work is due to start 27th February 2006
The "Principles of Desktop Publishing"course started on 23rd January with some 16 people signed up for it.
Proof prints of the three town guides (the trail map and two children's guides) are available. They have been exhaustively 'road-tested', and after approval will be sent off for printing.
Translations of these guides are in progress.
The photographs for the DVD 'video' have been assembled. The sound track is in the process of being recorded by John Rapson, archivist of the Liskeard Old Cornwall Society. Background music files have been received from the Liskerrett Male Voice Choir.
Final amendments are being made to the map-board masters, and they will soon be sent for manufacture.
A call was made to those present to submit any photographs they have taken of the project in progress so that these may be included in a documentary archive.
It was decided to have an open digital photography competition relating to Liskeard town heritage. There will be three categories; an historic building, details of a building, and a scene depicting historic buildings.
Two more training courses are being scheduled; one on marketing, and one to be delivered by George Vaughan-Ellis RIBA on the interpretation of historic buildings in the locality.
Plans are well advanced for a launch event, which will take place on Saturday 25th March. The day will include the launch ceremony, a buffet and a series of walks around the trail.
