Market Gardening in the Tamar Valley
Location: Cornwall

This project is raising awareness of the market gardening history of the area and its influence on the natural, built, industrial heritage and customs and traditions of the area.

The remaining landscape features relating to the industry are being catalogued and the range of crops grown, their markets and distribution is being investigated.

The group is producing an oral history record and the heritage is being interpreted through the production of a booklet, walks and on-site interpretation.

The information gathered by this project will contribute to a further project. This will assess the state of the existing industry and look at new markets and community enterprises.
