The final selection of photographs and postcards is made in consultation with the graphic designer who then completes his work by typesetting the text around the map and illustrations.

The entire sequence forms part of a formal sign-off procedure for each walk which culminates in the leaflet being accepted by a small committee whose members have been selected from amongst those of the Regeneration Forum.

Once a walk has been accepted, it is ready for the printer.


The sign-off procedure is also useful in providing the basis for a progress summary – simply by counting the number of walks at each stage.


At the time of writing (August 2005) the situation is as follows:

First of 72 public buildings donated by John Passmore EdwardsReady for sign-off committee (2 leaflets)
Ditto bar minor clarification awaited (2 leaflets)
Ready to be given to graphic designer (1 leaflet)
Walk validator’s comments to be applied (2 leaflets)
In consultation with local historians (1 leaflet)
Being researched and written (2 leaflets)
