The Looe Heritage Trail Organisers set themselves a tight schedule, to have the first part of the project, namely the Trail Guide, up and running by April 2004. So far they are on time.

The draft of the words of the Trail Guide have been written and passed to the designers for their use in developing the paper Trail Guide and defining the content of the art work. Some photos have been taken, old pictures sourced, and the list of illustrations agreed with the Guide designers.
Positions of the five signs boards depicting the Trail route and sites of interest have been defined. The owners of the land have given their formal permission, and Planning Permission applications have been made.
A Canon IXUS 400 digital camera has been purchased. Photos of some sites along the Trail. have been taken with professional guidance, and a photographic training course for 12 people has now been completed. The course covered the main aspect of composing and taking pictures, and also how to handle digital pictures on the computer.
We are now equipped to complete the more difficult photos with confidence.
Sound recording equipment, a Sony MZ-B100 minidisc digital recorder, has also been purchased and already local people have been interviewed and their memories of Looe recorded.
Part of our project is to produce a video of the Looe Heritage Trail. We shall shortly be purchasing a camcorder, and a training course on the production of a video is scheduled for early March. The video will be shot over the summer, and the editing will be done in the Autumn.
