Brixham's War
Location: Devon
The successful restoration of several gun batteries in the town with an LHI grant aroused much interest and the suggestion was mooted to create a community play about local evacuees and a film about the town's part in the Normandy landings.
These will be used as part of an education programme and will also enable young people of the town to experience their wartime heritage through the active recreation of the times using first hand accounts by local residents, and exploring the realities of war.
