I can see this fascinating book may well become a school text-book within the next ten years or so, for it illustrates so well the world that many of us were born into and that of our parents, and which exists no longer. Reg Sampson carefully went about the village making tape recordings of many of the folk living there and these have been faithfully transferred to print with many photographs added. Many served this country durig the Second World War and unfortunately several have died since the recordings were made but thanks to the foresight of Loddiswell History Group, their stories have been preserved for posterity.
