Sampford Peverell Heritage Project Phase 2 (Phase 2)
Location: Devon

Following on from a highly successful Phase One project the group wishes to continue to develop this inclusive project to produce further outputs which will benefit the community locally and those who visit the area.

The group are applying for the materials and equipment to undertake further research with the community’s input and help to create two books and a second nature walk leaflet an aerial photographic survey with related interpretation. It is also intended to do a population survey. Wildlife habitat studies will be undertaken near the Grand Canal that runs through the village and the provision of some nest boxes to encourage local birdlife back to the area. A programme of natural history events will accompany this.

Another important part of the project concentrates on the town charter which is to be digitally reproduced and interpreted so that it is accessible to all residents and interested parties. The group also intends to run a history project with the local primary school. The project will culminate in the reproduction of the Sampford Market as described in the charter which will be organised by and open to all residents.
