THE 2005 FESTIVAL.

Our Festival took place on Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26th June 2005 and many of the project’s outputs were achieved at that time. We feel that the awareness of Teignmouth’s maritime heritage was raised significantly both by the exhibition (which was on show in the marquee) and the performances of the Newfoundland artists. The Newfoundlanders told the audience several tales about the links between Newfoundland and Teignmouth.

The play was performed as a workshop and play reading (see problem page) which encouraged audience participation.

The Whalebone project at the local schools was very successful and a great number of pictures were produced as well as two large models of the whalebones- one pair was used in a shop-window display and the other pair was used at the entrance to the marquee.

The Festival itself generally went well and the response from the public was very positive.
