The Dartmouth Archive Project
Location: Devon

The project aims to raise awareness of and provide public access to historical information about Dartmouth and its surrounding parishes. This will be achieved by cataloguing information held by individuals in a database format and by obtaining memories of the past through an oral history project.

The wider community will be involved in the project through history awareness days with local museums and other history groups and by introducing those groups and schools to the database. An accessible computerised archive will be the main output of this project and it is expected to benefit in excess of 5,000 people over an ongoing period, with greater numbers through accessing material via the planned website.

Principle costs of this project are £4530 for materials and equipment, £9800 for professional fees and expert advice, £250 for design, printing and photography, £800 for promotional costs, events and exhibitions.
