Torrington 1646 Outreach Education Project
Location: Devon

This is a community lead project to develop the skills of existing and new volunteers to provide and outreach education programme of living history to schools in the area and beyond.

The project aims to bring history to life in the classroom using song, stories, role play, displays and dialect. The project requires training in the heritage to help develop volunteers into living characters including characterisation classes, civil war study, language development and mentoring as well as classroom and child management for community volunteers

This project will help to ensure that the local heritage and history is kept alive for school children and volunteers alike. It will also allow the heritage centre to reach areas and schools that may not be able travel easily to the centre itself
