Stream Survey 2004The aim of the project is to raise awareness of various aspects of the local heritage of the village of Drimpton and the nearby hamlet of Netherhay in west Dorset and thus "build bridges" between the two communities and between people and their local heritage.

This will be achieved through investigating and recording heritage information and presenting it in words, photographs, video, art, textile, construction, performance and an Internet web site.

A specific element of the project will be raising awareness of a local nameless stream that threads through the village and links many items of natural, built and archaeological heritage interest.

Giving the name will be part of the project as there is no record of it having one and the lack of a name has become a potent symbol for the village.

Poster advertising exhibition of 5 yearsThis exhibition presented the work of Village Voices from 1999 to 2004. It brought together evidence of all that has been accomplished in that time. The makers of the current BUILDING BRIDGES project showed work - completed, in-progress or planned. This gave all villagers a chance to see how the project strands were getting along.
