The project envisages a number of phases spread over a period of up to 10 years, should funding be available. Each phase will concentrate on a particular heritage type.
This project is encouraging a greater understanding of the local heritage assets of the area. This is being achieved through developing the village archive and by promoting its existence.
The project is encouraging a wider range of people and age groups within the community to participate, in particular the young.
This first phase of the project is encouraging local people to help with the completion of putting the existing collection of research on to a database.
The database is principally photographs and information about the built heritage assets, water mills, and village celebrations and festivals. An effective storage and retrieval system and website are being established.
The project is also producing a mobile exhibition which will be displayed at local centres, schools, public exhibitions and lectures.
