Frome Food Heritage
Location: Somerset

Frome is a market town in the North-East Somerset with a population of 20,000. It has a twice weekly produce market a weekly W.I. Country market plus a monthly farmers market. There is also an annual cheese show. This Frome retains strong links with the surrounding rural area.

At the same time, increasing numbers of people in the town travel to Trowbridge or Bath/Bristol to work, and are loosing touch with the rural heritage of the area.

The project aims to revive and encourage such links through a subject of which everyone has daily knowledge - Food.

Indirectly, we hope it will encourage people to buy more food locally and strengthen community links in the area.
