Olveston Parish Historical Society Book Launch
Location: South Gloucestershire

On 2nd November the OPHS held a special event at St Marys Church to launch to exciting new books: Quakers of Olveston by Eric Garret and The War Memorial by Bill Morgan.

02 November 2005
Exhibition and Book Launch
Venue: St Marys Church, Olveston

Eric and Bill talked about the research behind the books, and there was an exhibition of photographs and maps together with some relics from 1st and 2nd world war battle fields.

The event was attended by over 200 members of the public as well as OPHS members. We received numerous comments on how enjoyable and interesting everyone found the event.
The exhibition remained at the church the following day to give the opportunity for visits by olveston School and tockington Manor School. More than 60 children attended from each school, and again it was clearly an enjoyable and educational event.
Photographs of this very successful event are shown here.
Copies of the books may be obtained from various outlets including The Book Shop in thornbury and Taylors News in olveston.
