Fovant History Interest Group Project
Location: Wiltshire

This project set out to investigate, record and promote features and reminiscences that represent the history of the village of Fovant.

The Fovant Local History Interest Group didn't want to create a museum-style collection, but to leave papers, postcards, photographs and other memorabilia with their owners. So they started out by making a list of which local people knew or owned relevant knowledge or items.

The LHI scheme has enabled them to produce a website onto which they are putting the history of the village. The information is also being printed in a booklet for those with no access to the Internet.

As well as recording and indexing known history, the group continues to undertake new research.
