Little Cheverell Sheepwash Restoration
Location: Wiltshire

When Little Cheverell’s Village Hall Committee became aware that an obscure hole in the ground behind the hall was the remains of an old sheepwash, they decided to restore it as a heritage feature.

As well as clearing the area, restoring the sheepwash and creating a viewing area with access for people with disabilities, the project would involve local people in collecting archive material to demonstrate the past use of the sheepwash and its contribution to the customs and traditions of the village.

The information gathered would be made available on a display board at the viewing area, in leaflets, on a DVD and on a website. Training would enable members of the project to manage and update the website themselves.

A public event would be held to celebrate the opening of the restored sheepwash.
