Presenting Tisbury to the Wider World - Phase 3
Location: Wiltshire
This application is the third phase of a project raising awareness of the local history and heritage of the area. The first phase resulted in the publication of a book and the creation of a local archive facility; the second phase purchased equipment and special furniture for use in a public room to make material more accessible, and this third phase intends to produce a second book using material for which there was no room in the first.
The group also wish to produce postcards depicting the village and its environs sourced from a village photographic event producing contemporary images of the village as an historic living community. They will purchase digital imaging equipment to create the postcards and project archival images at presentations and exhibitions.
The book and the postcards will be sold and the money used to finance reprints; there will be a launch event, and an oral history project by the primary school and by the group will run concurrently.
