River Rea Heritage Trail Opens !
Location: Birmingham
On Easter Monday our big day came at last, and we held our River Rea Heritage Trail opening event on Kings Norton playing fields, Birmingham.
After nearly 2 years of hard work it was time for everyone to join us and celebrate the history of the lovely River Rea. We chose Kings Norton as it is around half way along the 8 miles of the trail.
We were joined on the day by Cllr Alden the member of Birmingham's cabinet for Leisure, Sport and Culture. Local dignitaries and members of lots of local community and voluntary groups.
The day was great fun with a wonderful friendly atmosphere.
The guided walks were very successful and most visitors went home with a trail leaflet in their pocket.
We hope they will keep the leaflet, and be inspired to come back and walk the River Rea.
