Ewyas Harold Archaeological History Project
Location: Herefordshire
The Project has resulted from a widespread enthusiasm from the local community to find out about the heritage of the area. There is a castle site, which dominates the village, but little information about the castle or its origins. By using local volunteers and working with specialists, the group wish to collate and examine documentary evidence, which exists from between 1048 and 1645 AD. They want to survey the area and link ecclesiastical buildings of a priory, castle chapel and existing church. The results of the survey will then be made available through exhibitions etc. The results of the survey will feature on the Parish Council website.
