Who wants to ‘Mow a Meadow’?
Location: Herefordshire
Caring for Gods Acre ‘Mow a Meadow’ group have been running an exciting project based in the communities of St. Weonards, Hentland, Garway and Llanwarne. The project is raising awareness of the fantastic grassland habitat of our local churchyards. Workshops on grassland management, scything and hay rake making have been fully booked and equipped local people with the skills to manage their own churchyard or piece of local grassland. Creative writing and painting workshops are also part of the project as well as compiling people’s memories on how grasslands used to be managed. Local groups and schools are getting involved and the project will also produce a DVD, interpretation leaflets and a booklet made up of poems, pictures and memories from local people.
