Stoke Prior and Ford PCC God's Acre Project
Location: Herefordshire

This Gods Acre project aims to conserve, manage and interpret the churchyard for the benefit of local people, visitors and wildlife. They wish to stimulate interest in the history of the church on the site and relationship to the history of the village. The group plan to carry out lichen, mammal, fungi and bat surveys (£1,050) an archaeological survey, to include looking at the graves and memorials and the church and its features (£3,525). The group will also be enhancing a meadow grassland area for which they will need a variety of tools to include a mower (£2,850). Part of the project is to remove 30 Red Cedar Wood Trees and replace them with coppiced Hazel, which was recommended in the tree report carried out by Gods Acre (£3,525). The group will be interpreting the results of the project through leaflets, displays and interpretation board and local people will be invited to join in with a number of activities to include the surveys, bat walks and the research, collation and recording of historical information of the area.
