Weobley Castle Survey Project
Location: Herefordshire

Local residents in Weobley are looking to investigate the remains of their castle - now just a series of mounds and dips.

The castle was once a prominent feature of the ancient village and may date to the Saxon period. It was occupied until the end of the 15th century, then abandoned.

The group is looking to carry out a geophysical survey to investigate the castle and an adjacent water mill. Their part in the development of the village will also be investigated.

The group aims to produce reports and a booklet from the investigation as well as hold an exhibition, open day and erect on site interpretation boards.
