Harley Village Pound Heritage Project Location: Shropshire
To research the social, historical and architectural background of the ancient cattle pound at the centre of Harley: to use the research process to include the wider community, and to recruit villagers to restore the Pound as a significant feature and centre piece of Harley’s agricultural history. The project seeks to use the pound as a way of celebrating and commemorating the social history of the village.
Plans included the production of an information board and a leaflet to inform visitors: a study pack for school children: an archive for the local studies library.
Harley Pinders are pleased to announce that the restored Cattle Pound was formally opened at the Harley Village Fayre at 3pm on 3rd September 2005.
