New England Enhancement
Location: Shropshire

The group is looking to investigate the history of New England in Highley, an area full of industrial and archaeological heritage.

Highley has been influenced by the coal mining industry which was prominent in the area in the 20th century. The area is also rich in industrial heritage dating back to the 18th century.

The industry has left its legacy with a construction of a railway and sewage works as well as miners' houses still evident in the area.

The group is looking to draw up a management plan that will increase public awareness, access and understanding of the area. They are also looking to hold an exhibition of their findings, produce a leaflet, hold a guided walk and carry out a school project.
