Rhydycroesau Village Map
Location: Shropshire

The group aim to research the heritage of the parish, to produce a series of local walk leaflets, hold events and involve people in traditional working woodlands.
The intention is to raise awareness of woodland management, the rights of way network and the wider history of the parish.
The creation and maintenance of good linkages with neighbouring Weston Rhyn is also an important aspect of the projects aims.

Two maps will be produced these will be:

Map 1 will be of the Rhydycroesau parish and is based on an existing map of the parish.

Map 2 will be of a working woodland area within the parish. A geophysical feature of special interest within the woodland area will be depicted in the map.

Work on the maps is in progress and are expected to be completed in April 2004 when there will be a launch event to present them. The launch will also include an exhibition of photographs taken by project photographer Carole Pugh. The photographs are of the wild-life found in and around the parish.

Bill Pinder, a parish resident and project team member, has now completed the final draft of the Working Woodland map. He will commence work on the Parish Walks map shortly. The maps will be used on interpretation and information boards and also in a leaflet of walks in the Parish.
