A summary of activites are as follows:
Archaeological Fieldwork and Metal Detecting: October - December 2004- A series of field walks, Geophysical surveys and metal detecting within Sheintons Landscape The Historic Landscape of the Severn Valley (Part 1 the Bronze Age to the 16th century): 8th October 2004- Lecture By Local Historian Dr.Trevor Hill The Historic Landscape of the Severn Valley from Atcham to Buildwas (Part 1 the Bronze Age to the 16th century). The lecture in Cressage Village Hall attracted people from a wide area of mid-Shropshire who were keen to know more about the fascinating history of this valley. 'Harvest-tide get-together': 26th September 2004- 'Harvest-tide get-together' with tea and cakes and a display in Sheinton Church. Geology Walk to a Site of Special Scientific Interest: 18th September 2004- Geology Walk to a Site of Special Scientific Interest. This event was for 'members only' as numbers had to be limited. Display at Much Wenlock Museum: 16th August to 24th September 2004 - Wenlock Museum. The display material used at the Sheinton fete was displayed at the museum and again attracted a lot of attention. The museum recorded that during this period they had 1,700 visitors Sheinton Fete: 10th July 2004 - Sheinton Fete. The launch of The Heritage Group Project at the yearly Sheinton Village fete. The Geology of Sheinton: 18th June 2004 - The Geology of Sheinton, A talk and workshop on local rocks and fossils held in Sheinton Church and led by Chris Rayner, our geologist member. This was followed by a study of the types of stone used to build the church and other buildings in the vicinity Your History day at Shirehall, Shrewsbury: 8th May 2004 - A display at the Your History Day organised by the Friends of Shropshire Archives in the Shirehall, Shrewsbury. A Snapshot in Time - the local maps of John Rocque: 22nd April 2004 - Another lecture by Trevor Hill, entitled A Snapshot in Time - the local maps of John Rocque, a famous map-maker was held in Cressage Village Hall. Trevor used examples from a number of John Rocque's maps to illustrate his talk and of special interest were those of mid-Shropshire Sheinton as a Shropshire Village: 29th February 2004 - A Lecture By Local Historian Dr.Trevor Hill entitled Sheinton a Shropshire Village
