Civil War Battle re-enactment
Location: Shropshire

A re-enactment of the fall of the Castle to parliamentary forces on the 29th June 1645 was held on 29th June 2002
The re-enactment was carried out by the Fairfax Battalia . The group provided two days of living history, including the capture of Sir Col William Vaughan from a Church service, and his daring escape.
Sir Col William Vaughan later became known as the Devil of Shrawardine.
