The Castle Ruyton XI Towns
Location: Shropshire

The project for this group in rural shropshire is based around the history and heritage of the village churchyard. The churchyard has two particularly interesting features; the overgrown remains of a castle and the site's rich flora and fauna.

The project is phased.

For the first phase the group's eventual aims are:

• to restore/stabilise the castle remains,
• produce site interpretation boards
• produce a booklet.

The group will research the history of the castle, carry out surveys for: flora, invertebrates, bats, birds, mammals, and work with a conservation architect and archaeologist to study the castle and prepare an application for the second phase.
