The group has been formed to investigate the area's rich industrial heritage and to record the numerous local reminiscences. This is an active local community and this project leads on from other projects carried out by the local residents.
The group is proposing to:
carry out an oral history project; research the area's history; hold three talks and exhibitions; produce a book; involve a local school in recording and managing an ancient hedge, thought to be up to 800 years old.
