Pasturefields Project
Location: Staffordshire

This project is focused on a stretch of the Trent and Mersey Canal and an adjacent area of inland salt marsh. This is the only area of inland salt marsh in the country and is designated as a Special Area for Conservation.

The group is restoring a section of towpath and a bridge parapet. The project is also creating interpretative material, holding events and producing two plays, one of which will be performed from a narrow boat on the canal.

The group has also been granted a Nationwide Building Society Award, towards providing ramp access for the disabled to the canal area.
