Restoration of Conduit Head and Re-Siting of Pumps and Location Plaques in and around Cannock.
Location: Staffordshire

The project covers two main areas connected with the town centre of Cannock.

The first area involves the renovation and relocation two Trust Pumps recovered and plaques mounted on to walls or buildings close to where the six Trust Pumps were originally sited. Included is the centre piece known as The Conduit Head which is a listed and scheduled building.

The second area involves the publishing of a book entitled " The story of Cannock Town Centre through the Ages". The book as been researched by a group of local people and takes a look at areas and buildings close to the The Conduit Head. These included St Luke's Church, The Green (White House), The Bowling Green, High Green and Walhouse School

The group intends to:
  • Give the books to local schools, museums and libraries

  • Give the books to the local community

  • Make Group presentations of the projects

  • Produce a display charting the various parts of the projects

  • Hold a childrens colouring competition

  • Produce a heritage trail around the town centre showing the various historic landmarks
