Purchase & Management of Brandon Wood
Location: Warwickshire

The Friends of Brandon Wood was formed to protect the Wood, a 72ha semi-natural ancient woodland. It sits on the edge of Coventry and was threatened with open cast mining.

The group has bought the site and now manage it for the benefit of the local community and wildlife. The Wood is habitat to dormice and dates from at least the 12th century. The group hold regular work parties and events in the Wood.

The group is also looking to produce leaflets, interpretation signs, a school project and a pond management plan.
