Rock Parish - Intent on Survival
Location: Worcestershire

The aim of the project is to mark the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War 2, from the view point of residents of Rock Parish in the 1940’s. Including their involvement in both full time Armed Forces and the Home Guard.

The group want to carry out an exhibition consisting of a display of photographs, stories of the wartime years and memorabilia collected by the parishioners of rock and the surrounding area. There will also be a static display of various military vehicles including tanks, lorries and dispatch bikes.

The group plan to publish a booklet capturing the information that they uncover. They have recently found out that the Parish has the best set of anti-tank cylinders (MDC’s) in the county and they plan to move the MDC’s from a ditch and in onto their local publicly accessible sports ground to interpret them. The landowners have already given their support for this.
